People who know me realize that I have an almost pathological loathing for winter, so much so that I look forward to the glorious moment when global warming enables us to completely eliminate this wretched season.

Winter can be pretty as long as you don't go outside, so I took this out of my window today. It was the first pretty snow of the season, the first time snow actually covered things instead of leaving half-dead grass half revealed.

Love cold weather? Afraid of spring? Maybe there's time for one last winter fling ... as Amanda Henke and her husband thought.

With their snow melting, they decided to vacation up north and build an igloo. A lot of questions emerged: Will it be too cold? seems like a nice start.

I'm not fond of cold and snow, personally, but I salute these intrepid adventurers who wander into the world of snow, worked hard to construct their shelter, and spent a great night and morning inside!
